An iOS app to lift the speed limit of your Cowboy Bike.

This iOS app allows you to debrid your Cowboy (C1 -> C4) bike and make it a bit more fun and easy to ride. I've only tested it on my C3 right now and it is working as intended.

Working on my SE 2020 iOS 14.3, but should be working on all devices >iOS 13.

Please give a lot of credit to Imaginous for Cowboy Untamed, without him there wouldn't even be any way to tweak our bikes. You will also find a lot of useful infos about the settings you'll find in the app on his page.

Download / Installation

Download the IPA here

As this app is not on the appstore, you need to sideload it with your favourite way. Altstore can help you with that, but there are other way. Be careful that the app will need to be re-installed / re-signed every 7 days in order to work as this is how apple restricts sideloading. If you don't know anything about sideloading, here is a guide.

If you're jailbroken, you can simply download it on your files and install it through ReProvision and the auto-resign will do his job. I might create a repo later to install it directly through Sileo / Cydia.

Main features

  • Disable the 25km/h speed limit
  • Edit field weakening parameter (increase assistance help in higher speeds)
  • Enable Auto Unlock on the C1+
  • Edit Hall Interpolation Transitions (HIT) (resolve motor judder at startup)
  • Reset PCB (printed circuit board). Not resetting any settings made before with the app.

The app is automatically finding any bike around, so please make sure you're connected to your bike before doing anything and that you're the only one with a cowboy around. It might evolve in a next update.

    I have successfully installed AltServer on my phone and downloaded cowboyunleashed. In my downloads, I see the file and it is using the icon for AltServer, but when I select it all I get is what is in the attached screenshot. As the app is not in the AltServer store, I can't figure out any other way to get it to work. Thoughts?

    Hi there are rumors that die C3 (30 Nm) has the same Motor thanthe C4 (45 Nm) and that it would be possible to unleash the full power via a software hack.

    Once I installed the app and disable the speed limit. My question is, do I have to open the "cowboy unlock" app every time to keep the speed unlock? Or can I disable speed limit once and go back to using the cowboy app?. also what is "field unlock" and how does it relate to going faster?

    I wondered if this app allows me to tweak how much support the motor gives on a standing start (e.g. 0 mph to say 10 mph)?

    On the C4 I find it to be a little too weak vs other electric bikes I've tried. Feels like it could give more of a boost there to build your momentum.

    Speed barrier C4 at 30km/ph

    I'm riding a C4 and installed Unleashed and wrote the following settings to the bike:

    • Speed Limit off
    • Field Weakening 15%

    With these settings I easily speed up to 35km/ph. But once I stop putting heavy force on the pedals until the point that the torque sensor doesn't detect any pressure (also shown in the Cowboy app), the bike stops giving any support.

    From there you need to lower the speed until 30km/ph before electric support continues again.

    I made a screencast to show the issue (sorry for the music ;-)) where I demonstrate the issue twice.
