    I saw they are no bookmark function be supported. I am wondering, does this because no API(AVFoundation) to support it or any other reasons? in my experience, the bookmark is an essential feature in audiobook players, so does it have any possibility to implement it or any trouble with it?

    Localization

    We should move the app to proper localization.

    Our app statistics seem to suggest we have quite a few Russian and German users (and I'm not all of them). Also having a Spanish version won't hurt for the US market.

    I can provide and maintain translation strings for German and I'm quite confident we'll find someone who wants to help us out with the Russion version.

    After upgrading to the latest version, the app worked a few times normally but now crashes every time I try to launch it. Did nothing since the upgrade except listen a few times, and added 1 bookmark to a file.

    Description

    I have been using BookPlayer for several months as my exclusive audiobook reader. I found it after becoming annoyed with VLC because it kept losing my place.

    Normally I import books using the File Import feature in iTunes. If the book is just one file, I'll use the Dropbox feature that lets you export to an app -- but that's tedious if it's more than one file, because (best I can tell) you can only do it one file at a time.

    Recently, I've been having more and more problems with importing files. The file load iTunes File Sharing or Export from Dropbox...and nothing happens. BookPlayer doesn't seem to recognize that a file (or set of files) is being sent to it.

    Those same files import (and play) just fine into VLC or the iTunes music player, so it's not a problem of corrupted files.

    I first had this problem with .m4b files (though I've had no problems with other .m4b files and BookPlayer), but today the problem is showing up with a bunch of different .mp3 files that I tried.

    I haven't seen any other posts about this, just a related one from February about file sharing turned off, but that appeared to be a temporary thing. This appears to be intermittent, as if there's only some files that BookPlayer will accept.

    Any idea what the problem might be? Any help appreciated. (I can attach one of the problematical .mp3 files if that would be helpful, but it's 28 Mb, so I wasn't sure if that was appropriate.)

    Steps to reproduce the behavior

    1. Start up iTunes on desktop computer with iPhone connected via USB.
    2. Go to File Sharing. Click on BookPlayer.
    3. Drag book files into the import area (or use Add Files).
    4. Look at BookPlayer. What should happen is that an import dialog box opens. What's been happing is...nothing.

    Allow to import book as folder of mp3 files

    Feature request. There are audiobooks which split into many mp3 files. It would be great, if it is possible to import such audiobooks as a folder (for example, copying folder of mp3 files via iTunes in app file sharing, at the moment copied folders of mp3 files are not recognized). What do you think about this?

    The controls were correct previously, though I can't say exactly when. I only know I first noticed they were different with BookPlayer 4.2.0.

    Crash when launching book from list

    Seems like there's a bug in the latest app store version. When you try to add a new book and play it, the app immediately crashes. Tested on iOS 11 on iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone X. Can't take a look at what's causing it right now, but I'll see what I can find after work!

    • App Version: 4.2.2

    Description

    4.1.1 worked beautifully but with the first 4.2 version I started having problems importing files to BookPlayer. I also found that my multiple part play lists stopped playing at the end of a part. I had to select the next part in the play list manually.

    I usually import multiple m4b files to add to a playlist via Airdrop. With 4.2 I had to I had to import each file individually. With 4.2.2 I cannot import any file via Airdrop. I then tried to import from Dropbox and this did not work either. Files show up in the Dropbox app but BookPlayer will not import them, only spin on the Downloading graphic.

    Steps to reproduce the behavior

    1. Try to AirDrop a file to phone.
    2. I see the Destination pop up on phone, select BookPlayer.
    3. Nothing happens. No new m4b file appears in BookPlayer.

    I think this is something much more doable: Currently I'm only seeing sort by Title or Original File name, so it would be great if there was a way to sort audio files played by most Recent (recently played).

  • Jump back in playback

    Jump back in playback

    Hi!

    My books are split into many files and I listen to them as playlists. A common problem that happens to me is that my headset buttons would get pressed while in my pocket and then playback continues while I'm not listening. This way it can play through several files.

    When I go back to real listening and find the location where I really stopped, after said file is finished, playback goes back to the farthest location where it played. This is quite inconvenient and contrary to how I would expect a playlist to behave - I'd expect that if I start playback from somewhere in the middle, it would continue playing from there rather than jump after finishing one item/song/chapter.

    Fix Suggestion: Keep track of "current location" separately from "farthest played location" and continue playing from the former in normal circumstances.

    Below is an image which shows a quicker way to add a bookmark note. The idea is essentially to remove an extra step, to make it a more pleasant experience when annotating an audiobook. By the way, I think the app is great you guys have done a great job so far!

    While listening to audio books the iPhone is heating up and BookPlayer is draining huge amounts of battery. When pausing the playback the iPhone is cooling down again to normal temperature.

    Description

    I added my windows computer to the file app on my iPhone. Then when I try to add a zip file to the player from within the app it does not import the file. I can see the zip file in the shared drive, but when I click it nothing happens. If I first copy the file from my shared drive to local storage the Player app lets me import the file. I am trying to avoid having to make an extra copy of the file to save space and time.

    1. Add a Windows computer in the Files app
    2. Open BookPlayer and add file (click import file)
    3. Navigate to file in the "Shared" section and select file
