Why We need disk images?

When your apple device gets upgraded to a new OS, the current XCode version you have used prior doesn't provide the appropriate disk image for that OS version. This prevents you to push the build to the device. Why We need disk images

Where to put the new disk images?

Go to your XCode app in the Application folder, open its content and locate the appropriate platform which you're going to add the new disk image.

For convenience, you can immediately jump to these paths in Finder by the hotkey Cmd+Shift+G :

  • iOS: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport
  • tvOS: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/AppletvOS.platform/DeviceSupport
  • watchOS: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/WatchOS.platform/DeviceSupport

    How are newer images acquired?

    Could you please document how new images are acquired in the readme?

    I know that they can be fetched by having Xcode do it, but that generally requires a device of the specified version.

    I ask this, because I would like it to be possible automatically via Linux / CLI without Xcode or mac. If there is a known way to fetch images from Apple using developer login, I'd like to know what it is.

    I went to attempt to use this repo ( via go-ios image auto ) for 2 devices today, and they are on 14.0.1 and 14.7.1, which are not yet present in this repo.

    Hi,

    I recently upgraded my iPhone 13 Pro Max to iOS 16.0.2 and now when i try to "set fake location" i get the diskmount error.

    I have rebooted my iMac (running macOS Monterey 12.6) and the iPhone and also reset the privacy/trust setting on the iPhone to ensure the trust relationship was in place to no avail.

    I noted that some other disk-images had sub-releases and wonder if that is the issue?

    The application automatically downloaded 16.0 as it had done in the past but something still isn't right...
